Edu-Tweeter 101: The Future and Beyond

Edu-Tweeter 101

The Future and Beyond

So, the past 8 months we have taken a journey in expanding our use and knowledge of the social media platform Twitter.

Each of us has gained a thorough insight into the workings of Twitter.

As our yearly fellowship prepares to come to an end, each of us has a story. What we would love to have for our final Edu-Tweeter 101 webinar series in May is YOUR STORY.

The April recorded webinar titled Edu-Tweeter 101: The Future and Beyond challenges you to SHARE your story. Many platforms are available to SHARE your story. April's webinar goes into some details of various platforms available to share your story.

Also, if you are interested in being a guest moderator or host, please feel free to contact me. You can use the May webinar time to share your story with current fellows and future fellows.

I am available to help you develop this story and work on a platform you choose to share your journey.

I look forward to hearing your story and working closely with you to elevate your experience.

Next Steps

With the start of the Colorado Legislative session, we now get ready to put our skills and talents to practice.

Daily, many bills are being introduced to legislation and many of those bills affect education. We must keep ourselves aware of what is going and share our voices to help policy makers.

How do I make myself aware? Two options are discussed on where you can follow the bills and what is happening in legislation. They are listed below:

1. Colorado Capital Watch - allows you to subscribe for free to receive daily updates of bills introduced in legislation. You can purchase a subscription to receive more elite updates.

2. Colorado Chalkbeat Bill Tracker - subscribe to the daily Legislation Updates.

TIP:

In order for us to impact the educational profession, we must take action in updating and analyzing and researching the bills and material available to us. We must educate ourselves as well as our community on the issues that impact education overall. Start today! Become a Citizen Influencer!

Edu-Tweeter 101: Citizen Influencer

Edu-Tweeter 101:

Citizen Influencer

What is a Citizen Influencer? What does a Citizen Influencer do? How can you become a Citizen Influencer?

Citizen Influencer is defined as “[a person] motivated by passion and interest around a product or cause, Citizen or everyday influencers, are the largest and most accessible.”

The power of Twitter is priceless. Because Twitter is "live" and is "now", being a Citizen Influencer allows you to share, motivate, and bring change to issues at hand. It is important for us, educators, to share our stories. We are the experts in the field and we have to give stakeholders and community members a glimpse of what goes on in the classroom.

Here is a webinar to help you answer the questions posed at the beginning. Edu-Tweeter 101: Citizen Influencer is a webinar that provides you with deep insight into becoming an influencer for education.

Join us for our next webinar January, 14, 2016 at 7 p.m. (MST). Reigter here to sign-up for our upcoming and future webinars.

As educators, we can use Twitter to develop our Personal Learning Network (PLN) and establish great Professional Development for our profession.

However, many educators tend to fear Twitter based on their experience of usage.

Well, a webinar is available for you to understand what Colorado Educator Marty Gutierrez described as:
